A Day to Remember at Howard Court, A Yorkshire Wedding day

Ah, Yorkshire! There's something about the quaint villages, and the sense of history that just makes everything feel a bit more special, doesn't it? And when it comes to weddings, there's no better place to tie the knot than in the heart of North Yorkshire. I had the pleasure to photograph a wedding at Howard Court recently, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical.

Howard Court, for those who aren’t in the know, is a stunning venue. It's got that perfect blend of rustic charm and elegant sophistication. From the drive up to the venue – you wind through narrow country lanes, past fields of green and golden brown, until you finally arrive at this beautiful, historic building, passing the local landmarks like Roseberry topping. It’s the sort of place that makes you want to stop and take it all in for a moment before you step inside.

The ceremony was set to take place in the barn, which had been beautifully decorated. Think fairy lights strung from the beams, It was simple, yet incredibly effective. There’s something about a barn wedding that feels so authentic and grounded. It’s not about the glitz and glamour; it’s about the love and the people, and that was evident from the moment we walked in.

Mathew & Sarah had opted for a relaxed, informal feel to the day, with only very close friends and family to witness their perfect day.

The ceremony was a lovely, intimate affair. There were a few tears, plenty of laughter, and a lot of love in that barn. The couple exchanged vows and heartfelt promises.

After the ceremony, we spilled out onto the drive for a group photo and a good confetti throw, followed by for drinks and canapés with live music by Abbie Lince Acoustic in the courtyard.

The weather, thankfully, held out – a rare sunny day in Yorkshire! Everyone mingled, chatted, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. There were lawn games set up, It was all very laid-back and joyful.

The food was on point and as I am a foodie I feel obliged to mention this, Oh, the food was good, and propper the evening they had propper pizzas from Middlesbrough company Saddle up 'n' Dough.

As the evening rolled in, the atmosphere shifted to one of celebration. The speeches were heartfelt and funny – Sarah's father brought a tear to an eye. The first dance was a picture-perfect moment, with the couple dancing in the sunset in the courtyard yes first dance outside, the light from a photographer's point was just right for this time of the day.

They danced, they laughed, they celebrated. There was a photo booth set up in one corner, and I have to admit, I spent a fair bit of time in there with various props and silly hats, to photograph

The night finished for me with a gorgeous sunset so we had to take advantage of this so I had to do a silhouette photos to show the colours in the sky and did it pop!

Howard Court truly is a gem of a venue, I always love coming back here, I have been here many times and twice this year so far and back again in a few weeks and I cant wait.

It’s got everything you could want for a wedding – stunning scenery, a beautiful setting, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. But more than that, it’s got heart. You can tell that everyone involved in the day, from the staff to the acoustics artist to the guests, really cared about making it a special occasion.

So, if you’re ever lucky enough to be invited to a wedding at Howard Court, don’t hesitate, or looking for a venue to get married in this is a must to check out. It’s a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life. As for me, I’ll be looking back on that sunny day in Yorkshire with a smile for many years to come. Cheers to the happy couple, and to many more beautiful weddings at Howard Court!
